Catalina Gutierrez
She works and collaborates with organizations that bring awareness through mindful and socially engaging media. As a Buddhist practitioner, she believes in creating art forms that mirror the infinite depth of our mind and human potential.
Catalina directs fiction films and documentaries both in New York City and worldwide. Directing allows her to travel across cultural barriers and embrace different viewpoints in her work while engaging with social issues in daily lives. This exploration fires up her interest in reflexive forms of cinema and inspires her to collaborate in new media projects that are concerned with vital political issues of our time.
During the last five years, Catalina has developed the program The Seven Steps after completing a series of silent retreats at Buddhist Insights, and training with monastics in New York City. She is passionate about exploring the human potential and ending suffering through mindfulness practices.
Testimonials
“Her personalized meditation instruction assisted me in seeing myself in a very positive and loving way. I became more forgiving and more compassionate… After practicing for more than a year, my anxiety has been reduced significantly. “
Andrew M, Business Manager
"When I have participated in live meditation or relaxation sessions with Catalina, it has helped me to stop and to focus. It helps to have a live person because they can guide me often much better than I can guide myself, but I can also learn ways to take care of myself between sessions.
Lisa Tommey, Writer, Editor and Educator

I would recommend Catalina to others.”
